FRANK
DEHN
Frank
is a seasoned litigator and counsellor, specializing in media law,
libel defense, and intellectual property law. After receiving his
law degree from Harvard Law School in 1983, Frank has spent more
than two decades developing his expertise. On a regular basis, Frank
advises and represents clients of the firm in matters of First Amendment
law, rights of privacy and publicity, copyrights and trademarks,
pre-publication and pre-broadcast review, and entertainment law.
From 2002-04, Frank was a Visiting Professor at the prestigious
Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University,
where he taught graduate classes in Media Law, as well as Communications
Law for undergraduate students in the Television/Radio/Film, Public
Relations/Advertising, and Journalism sequences. He also is a former
on-air correspondent for Court TV and a former investigative reporter
for two local television stations, and holds a Masters Degree from
the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. Frank began his legal
career in the mid-1980's at Webster & Sheffield, then one of
New York's most prominent law firms. Since joining our firm -- then
called Smith Dornan & Shea PC -- in 2002, Frank has successfully
handled a number of litigated matters, has provided content review
and other legal advice to facilitate television programming for
major television networks and magazine clients, and has negotiated
numerous employment contracts on behalf of professionals in the
broadcast journalism industry. The firm recognized Frank's contributions
in changing its name to Smith Dornan & Dehn PC in 2004.
